Visit the Nova Tools homepage and locate the "Word Counter" tool card in the Tools section. The card displays a text-width icon and the description "Paste your text to count words, characters, sentences, and paragraphs instantly." Click the card to open the Word Counter modal.
Clicking the tool card opens a modal titled "Free Word Counter Tool". The modal includes a textarea for text input, a hint ("Type or paste text to see real-time counts below"), a counter grid showing words, characters, sentences, and paragraphs, and a "Clear Text" button. Close the modal by clicking the "×" button or outside the modal.
Type or paste your text into the textarea, which displays a placeholder: "Paste your text here to count words, characters, sentences, and paragraphs...". The textarea supports vertical resizing. As you type or paste, counts update instantly. You can paste text from any source, such as a document or website.
The counter grid below the textarea displays four metrics in real-time: Words (split by spaces), Characters (including spaces), Sentences (split by periods, exclamation marks, or question marks), and Paragraphs (split by double newlines). Each count is shown in a card with a gradient-styled value.
Click the "Clear Text" button, which features a pulsing animation and a trash icon, to reset the textarea and set all counters to 0. This is useful when you want to start with new text. Closing the modal also clears the text and resets the counters.
